Former Bosnian Serb wartime military leader Ratko Mladic on Tuesday morning visited the grave of his daughter Ana at Belgrade's cemetery, Serbian Deputy War Crimes Prosecutor Bruno Vekaric said.
A convoy of vehicles with Mladic left the special court for war crimes around 6 am under tight security.
To visit his daughter's grave was a big wish which the court and the War Crimes Prosecutor's Office decided to grant, Vekaric said.
Mladic stayed at the grave about 20 minutes, accompanied by his physician.
His daughter Ana was found dead in the family house in Belgrade in March 1994. According to the official version, she killed herself with her father's gun.
Mladic was arrested in Belgrade on Thursday after hiding from the Hague war crimes tribunal for 16 years. On Friday, a Belgrade court ruled he could be extradited to the UN court. His lawyer yesterday appealed the extradition decision. The appeal is expected to be discussed today. If turned down, Mladic could be transferred to The Hague as early as today.
