Croatian Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor told Croatian reporters covering her visit to New York on Sunday that changes would be made in her cabinet and in her Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) party.

I will announce the changes in the government by the year's end, Kosor said answering to reporters' questions. She, however, declined to talk about specific names or the ministries in question.

She also reiterated that HDZ election slates would include the names of at least a half or more young members at the next election.

Kosor also addressed investigations into corruption scandals in Croatia, including Daimler and Hypo Bank.

The PM stressed the government would insist that the probe into the Daimler case be carried out all the way. A lot of money was at stake, some four million euros, she said adding that the investigation showed that some officials had been taking bribe.

Kosor stressed that the judiciary must not be pressured by politics.

Addressing the Hypo Bank scandal, Kosor said it was possible for a Croatian parliamentary delegation to visit Austria, after Austrian investigators visited Croatia.

Kosor stressed the Croatian government enjoyed strong support from the United States and the European Union in fighting corruption.

She reiterated that despite the crisis there was no need to seek help from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), as the government was carrying out its Economic Recovery Programme, supported by both the IMF and the World Bank.
