Milanovic: Elections for EP chance that must not be missed out on

The president of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic, said in the eastern Croatian city of Osijek on Wednesday that election for the European parliament was an opportunity that must not be missed out on and that Croatia would have its opportunities in the European Union, despite the fact that in was entering the bloc in the most complex moment of the EU history.

Speaking at the presentation of the SDP-HNS-HSU coalition slate for the European Parliament, Milanovic said billions of euros were waiting on Croatia in the European Union, but not served on the plate. Good projects must be written for which we need to have smart and efficient administration.

He said that by casting a ballot for this slate, people were vote for a civilised and modern European path, stressing that European Socialist and Liberals groups shared mostly the same values and beliefs, never chauvinism, xenophobia and hatred.

Croatian People's Party (HNS) president Vesna Pusic said the European Union was primarily a peaceful project which Croatian people would know to appreciate.

Croatian Pensioners' Party (HSU) president Silvano Hrelja said the European Parliament was making important decisions.
