The request of Croatian members in the board of the INA oil company for convening an urgent meeting is in line with the government's view that it is necessary to enhance the management over INA and high-quality management of INA is the government's priority, First Deputy Prime Minister and Economy Minister Radimir Cacic tod reporters on Tuesday when asked to comment on the insistence of the three Croatian members sitting on INA's board to have an extraordinary meeting of the company's management.

The Croatian top executives in INA believe that they are being marginalised and bypassed in decision-making process and that it is only Hungary's MOL that runs the company via the board chairman Zoltan Aldott.

The Croatian members propose the adjustment of the INA managing board's internal documents to Croatia's Companies Act.

Cacic said that the government could see that the existing unclear model for managing INA made it impossible, to a certain extent, for Croatian board members to give their full contribution to the management's performance.

Asked whether the INA shareholders agreement between the Croatian government and the Hungarian oil group MOL should be amended, the Deputy PM said that it was well known that the government insisted that the management rights must be in correlation with the ownership level, as "now it is not the case".

Asked when the shareholders' agreement might be amended, he answered "when the conditions for that are met, we will amend it".

Government follows the work of INA, points to certain problems and tries to find solutions, he added.

Cacic emphasised that despite considerable difficulties, such as the unfavourable developments in Syria or the recession in the region, INA would successfully wrap up this year.
