Commenting on reports that the Croatian Social Liberal Party (HSLS) was trying to talk Croatian National Bank governor Zeljko Rohatinski into joining its ranks, HSLS leader Darinko Kosor said on Tuesday that "there is a possibility that he could become active, perhaps not yet, as he has stated himself, because right now the stability of the kuna is more important to him".

"Nevertheless, elections are a year away from now, so there may be some surprises in a few months," Kosor said after an event commemorating the tenth anniversary of the death of the party's founder, Vlado Gotovac.

Kosor repeated that the HSLS would run in the next parliamentary elections on its own.

"We want to represent a third political way, a centrist Liberal civic way between the left and the right. The HSLS feels close to those who share its political views and its Liberal civic orientation," said Kosor.
