The former deputy minister of tourism, Vinka Cetinski, and four other persons from the Rovinj area were arrested on Friday evening on suspicion of fraud in the purchase and sale of real estate, Istria County Police Department spokesman Valter Opasic said without naming those detained.

Opasic said that more details would be known after the criminal investigation.

Last October, businessman Danko Koncar pressed charges against Cetinski, his long-time associate and director of his firm, Kemas Ulaganja, for fraud and abuse of authority. He said that he had authorised her to buy land in Istria and that she defrauded him of 16.5 million euros.
