The police pressed criminal charges against businessman Tomislav Horvatincic on suspicion that he caused a fatal maritime accident in which an Italian couple died, and the Sibenik County Court's investigating judge on Wednesday evening ordered his 48-hour detention in custody.
Additional evidence will be collected in the said period, the Sibenik police department's spokeswoman Marica Kosor said on Thursday.
On Tuesday, the speedboat steered by Horvatincic collided with a boat sailing under the Italian flag off Primosten, central Dalmatia, and in the accident, the couple on the Italian boat died.
