Former Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader, who suddenly stepped down in 2009, has established, together with the Austrian Wolfgang Kroess, the consulting firm Prima Consulting GmbH in Innsbruck, the Austrian news agency APA reported on Wednesday.

According to the Austrian WirtschaftsBlatt paper, which publishes information on companies, Prima Consulting GmbH specialises in trade, export and import, consulting services and finances.

Sanader owns 95 percent of the company, says APA.

The company was established for the period after political engagement. Preparations had been going on for some time. His (Sanader's) focus is currently on lecturing at Columbia University, said Heidi Glueck, Sanader's spokesperson in Austria.

Before starting his political career, Sanader was a businessman in Austria.
