President Ivo Josipovic on Tuesday evening received Tomislav Pokrovac and Zvonko Pipic, president and vice president of the trade union of Croatian farmers, Darko Grivicic, president of the Croatian chamber of agriculture, and Stjepan Mikolcic, state secretary in the Agriculture Ministry, to talk about farmers’ protests, farmers’ requests and the position of the Agriculture Ministry, the President’s Office said in a statement.
The participants in the talks concluded there are grounds for an agreement on farmers’ requests and that additional efforts would be invested so that an acceptable solution could be adopted which would end farmers’ protests.
They also agreed to keep President Josipovic informed of the course of the negotiations, the statement said.
