Croatian President Ivo Josipovic said on Saturday that all sovereign states, including Kosovo, were invited to attend the ceremony marking Croatia's EU entry and that all neighbours and presidents were welcome, expressing hope that everyone would come, including Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic.

Asked to comment on Nikolic's statements concerning his arrival in Zagreb, Josipovic said Croatia had "clear rules" and that "all sovereign states are invited, including Kosovo."

Serbian President Nikolic said two days ago he would most definitely attend the ceremony in Zagreb on the occasion of Croatia EU admission and that the only thing that could prevent his arrival would be Croatia's decision to use this opportunity and "insult Serbia" by inviting Kosovo to attend the ceremony.

Commenting on the largest Croatian company Agrokor's takeover of Slovenia's Mercator, Josipovic said this would have a positive effect on the entire economy adding that the purchase of Mercator demonstrated that one part of the economy was vital.

The market will be broadened, and products from Croatia will be in several locations on the shelves in Slovenia, most probably the other way around as well, the president said.

Asked if the takeover would strengthen Croatia-Slovenia relations, Josipovic said it most definitely would and that the takeover was also an indicator of the improved bilateral relations and mutual trust.
