The Croatian Parliament is scheduled to convene on Wednesday for an extraordinary session and approve a government reshuffle proposal by which Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor proposed to Parliament to appoint Martina Dalic Finance Minister, Davor Bozinovic Defence Minister, Branko Bacic Minister of Environmental Protection, Physical Planning and Construction, and Jasen Mesic Culture Minister.

The PM also asked Parliament to name Domagoj Milosevic as Deputy Prime Minister in charge of major investment projects, which is a new government post, and Agriculture Minister Petar Cobankovic and Foreign Minister Gordan Jandrokovic as new deputy prime ministers.

The main motive for the government reshuffle was the reinforcement of its economic team and the accomplishment of one of the government's goals - recovery from the economic crisis - the other goal being the completion of the country's EU accession talks and the signing of the accession treaty in 2011, Kosor said yesterday.

Outgoing Finance Minister Ivan Suker, Defence Minister Branko Vukelic, Environmental Protection and Physical Planning Minister Marina Matulovic Dropulic and Culture Minister Bozo Biskupic decided to return to Parliament.

The extraordinary parliamentary session will start at 10 AM on Wednesday.
