Croatian President Ivo Josipovic said on Saturday that Radimir Cacic, who received a Hungarian court' 22-month suspended sentence with three years' probation, his party and the government must seriously consider to which extent he can continue to perform the duty of first deputy prime minister.
"The verdict is here, it is what it is. We will see, of course, after the appeals process is over. In any case, I think that Cacic, his party and the government must seriously think about to which extent he can continue to perform the duty of first deputy prime minister," Josipovic said when asked to comment on Cacic's verdict after meeting Iraqi children who are vacationing in Croatia.
Cacic was found guilty on Friday of causing a car crash with two fatalities in Hungary in 2010. He also must pay 1.17 million in Hungarian forints for the court costs.
