Croatian wines which do not meet EU standards can be sold until stocks run out, it was decided in Brussels on Tuesday at a meeting of the Management Committee for the Common Organisation of Agricultural Markets, the wine and alcohol sector.

A decision was adopted at today's meeting to allow the sale of Croatian wines made before 1 July 2013 which do not meet EU regulations, for example labels without all the information. This counts as existing stock, European Commission Spokesman for Agriculture and Rural Development Roger Waite told the media.

Also presented at a meeting, which was attended by Croatian representatives, was the Croatian national wine programme for the 2014-2018 period. According to Commission sources, the programme will be adopted and it will enter into force in mid-October.

The meeting did not discuss Teran or Prosek wines.
