Former prime minister Ivo Sanader spent several hours at the Zagreb County Court on Thursday reading the file in the Fimi Media case, in which he is charged, along with several former officials of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) party, with siphoning funds from public companies and government ministries via the privately owned marketing firm Fimi Media.
Sanader declined to speak to the press or comment on Wednesday's suspension from the police service of his former bodyguard, Davor Blazevic.
Blazevic was suspended by the new Interior Minister Ranko Ostojic after photographs of his recent meeting with Sanader had been published in the press.
Sanader's lawyer Jadranka Slokovic said that the former prime minister would return to the court in the afternoon to continue reading the case file.
