Police have searched 95 per cent of the computer equipment of blogger Marko Rakar, but have found no evidence to link him to the online publication of a portion of the Homeland War Veterans Register, his lawyer said on Friday evening.

"Police have found no evidence to link Rakar to the publication of the register and he's a free man," the lawyer Maro Mihocevic told Hina, adding that he expected that the rest of the equipment would be searched early next week and that his client would eventually be cleared of any suspicion.

Mihocevic said that Rakar's arrest on Wednesday was illegal because "police had no evidence to show that Rakar had committed a crime."

After nearly 10 hours of questioning, Rakar was released from police custody late on Wednesday. For the past three days he has attended the examination of his computer equipment, which has been temporarily seized, at a police station in Zagreb.
