The orientation of Croatia's official policy is very clear, nurturing good neighbourly relations, and there is no diplomatic war with Serbia, Croatian Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor said on Saturday commenting on Serbian President Boris Tadic's reaction to her visit to Kosovo earlier this week.

Speaking to the press while visiting the island of Korcula, Kosor said she had stressed countless times that Croatia would support the European path of all its neighbours, including Serbia, adding that "in this sense, we have given very clear signs."

"It's not good and the Croatian government won't tolerate any interfering in Croatia's internal policy. We have the right to work on projects we consider important and, talking about Kosovo, it's a fact that Croatia recognised it and if it's in our economic interest to further strengthen economic cooperation with Kosovo, we will do it."

Kosor said it was interesting that Tadic was accusing her of undemocratic behaviour, while last year he asked that Croatia be banned from celebrating Victory Day, "a day of particular importance to every Croat and every Croatian citizen."

"This year (Tadic) spoke about the armed conflict on Croatian territory, but he didn't tell the truth about historical facts. This was not an armed conflict. Croatia was a victim of Milosevic's Greater Serbian aggression and tanks from Belgrade came to destroy Vukovar," she said, adding that this year was the 20th anniversary of the attack on the eastern Croatian town of Vukovar.

"At the same time, Tadic sees nothing wrong in his minister laying wreaths at the grave of Slobodan Milosevic, a tyrant and bloodsucker who is responsible for Srebrenica, for the destruction in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and for other crimes. With Operation Storm, a liberation operation, we helped to open democratic processes in Serbia. We see that state as a friendly neighbour. We will continue to build bridges, but we will lead our own internal and foreign policy," said Kosor.

Commenting on her visit to Kosovo, Tadic said earlier this week Kosor was using old hostilities for Croatia's financial benefit.
