The Slovenian parliament confirmed on Wednesday new Prime Minister Alenka Bratusek's center-left government

A total of 52 deputies were in favour of the new government and 35 were against.

The 14-member cabinet will replace the conservative government of former prime minister Janez Jansa, ousted by parliament last month after losing its majority in January over a corruption scandal.

The Bratusek coalition government is comprised of her Positive Slovenia (PS) party, the Social Democrats (SD), the Citizens' List (DL) and the Pensioners' Party (DeSUS).

Her four-party coalition controls 49 of 90 seats in parliament.

Jansa confirmed on Wednesday he would not re-activate his mandate in parliament

Bratusek said she would ask for a confidence vote in parliament in one year, in line with a coalition agreement.
