Croatia will host the autumn session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in October 2013, the head of the Croatian parliamentary delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, Boris Blazekovic, said on Thursday, adding that the event will bring together some 800 parliamentarians from 28 NATO members and observer countries.

The autumn session will be held in Dubrovnik on 11-14 October 2013 and will be the biggest political meeting ever held on Croatian soil, Blazekovic said.

According to him, the meeting will focus on topics that have dominated this past period, such as the situation in Afghanistan, Syria, the Arab Spring and the "smart defence" concept.

The NATO meeting will be attended by the entire Croatian state leadership, NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen and possibly US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
