The anti-government protest walk organised in Zagreb on Wednesday evening ended around 9.30 pm in the city's Cvjetni Trg square.

During the walk, which started at 6.30 pm, the protesters came close to St. Mark's Square, where the government and parliament buildings are located, but were returned by the police deployed there. They then walked to the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) offices, and from there on to the offices of the Vecernji List daily, as an expression of support for its employees who went on strike due to the cancellation of their collective agreement and restriction of benefits.

While on their way to Vecernji List offices, the protesters once again stopped outside the Japanese Embassy, observing a minute of silence in tribute to thousands of people killed in the recent earthquake and tsunami disaster in that country.

Shouting "Jaco, go away", the protesters then proceeded to the Mimara Museum, where Prime Minister and HDZ president Jadranka Kosor recently distributed membership cards to new members of the HDZ Youth Association.

The civic initiative organising the anti-government protests once again called on protesters and other citizens to join on Friday, at 11 am, a protest march of Vecernji List reporters from the Croatian Journalists Association offices to the Vecernji List offices in Slavonska Avenija street.

The protest ended around 9.30 pm in Cvjetni Trg square, and the next one was announced for Saturday, March 26, at 6 pm.

According to police estimates, around 800 people took part in the protest walk. There were no incidents.
