Following information that documents pertaining to Croatia have been published on the WikiLeaks website, Croatian Interior Minister Tomislav Karamarko said on Monday it was a known fact that other countries were gathering information on Croatia and that it was a normal process everywhere in the world, stressing that the publication of the information was not a threat to national security.

"This cannot threaten our national security, but we must see the nature of the published documents," Karamako told reporters.

He reiterated that Croatia was constantly encountering problems concerning information leakage.

Whistleblower website WikiLeaks released 250,000 of classified U.S. State Department documents on Sunday, and the five most influential newspapers in the world all carried stories about it - The New York Times (the United States), The Guardian (Great Britain), Le Monde (France), El Pais (Spain) and Der Spiegel (Germany).
