Greek FM meets Croatian Opposition leader

The president of the strongest Opposition party - the Social Democrats (SDP) - Zoran Milanovic, on Wednesday held talks with the visiting Greek Foreign Minister, Stavros Lambrinidis, about the ways for solving the economic and financial crisis in the European Union, the SDP said in a statement.

Milanovic and Lambrindis underlined the importance of strengthening economic cooperation between Croatia and Greece and joint political activities in stabilising Europe's southeast and its inclusion in the EU enlargement process.

Lambrinidis arrived in Croatia on Tuesday for an official visit during which he held talks with his Croatian counterpart, Gordan Jandrokovic.

Earlier today, the Greek minister gave a talks at the Croatian Foreign Ministry on Greece's opinion concerning EU prospects of the neighbouring countries in times of crisis.

He reiterated Greece's support to Croatia and its ambition to become a full member of the EU. Lambrinidis congratulated Croatia on the achievements so far.
