A state secretary at the Serbian Justice Ministry said on Monday he expected an agreement between Serbia and Croatia on the extradition of their citizens accused of organised crime and corruption could be signed and go into force by the end of the month.

Slobodan Homen recalled that Serbia's Constitution allowed for the extradition of its citizens if there was a bilateral agreement, saying it was good that Croatia was about to amend its own Constitution.

"We have already embarked on negotiations with the Croatian Justice Ministry on the signing a new extradition agreement which will initially envisage extradition for organised crime and corruption, namely the gravest crimes," Homen said on B92 Television.
