About a hundred workers of the Dioki petrochemical company on Thursday morning started a protest in St Mark's Square in Zagreb which houses the government and parliament, asking to be received by somebody from the Zoran Milanovic cabinet who would offer a solution for the payment of their claims, as they have not received salaries for the past six months.

We welcome the announcement of the Crodux Plin company regarding the take over of the Dioki and Dina chemical plants and the re-launch of production, however, workers must be able to survive in the next several months, until the pre-bankruptcy settlement is completed and a solution for the Dioki group is found, the organiser of the protest, unionist Srdjan Perkovic, said.

Under the signed agreement, Some 300 Dioki workers, who have been registered at the Employment Bureau since the start of this year, should receive seven back pays and half of their severance pays. The other 100 Dioki workers and employees of Dina Petrokemija are now seeking nine late pays.

The protesting workers have received the support of union federations.
