Some 200 Croats living in the New York area have peacefully protested outside the United Nations headquarters in New York against the verdicts by the UN war crimes tribunal in The Hague against Croatian generals Ante Gotovina and Mladen Markac.

The protest was held following ICTY Chief Prosecutor Serge Brammertz's address to the U.N. Security Council on Monday.

The protesters once again voiced their support to Gotovina and Markac, stressing that defending your country from aggression could not be labelled as a crime.

The protesters harshly criticised the United Nations and the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia which sentenced the two generals.

Last protests of support to Gotovina and Markac outside the U.N. headquarters was held on 26 April.
