The tenders for the locations Hidrobaza and Pineta within the Brijuni Rivijera development project will be invited again under different terms, Tourism Minister Veljko Ostojic said ahead of a government session on Thursday.

After no bids were submitted for the two locations in tenders that expired on Wednesday, Ostojic said that a new call for bids would most probably be announced again, without going into details of possible new terms.

The tenders for three locations in the development project Brijuni Rivijera were invited last September, with the expiry date of January 16, when they were extended until May 16 for two of the locations, Hidrobaza and Pineta.

The deadline for the submission of bids for the location Sveta Katarina - Monumenti expired on January 16 and the only bid was submitted by Kermas Vod Cetiri, a company owned by businessman Danko Koncar, and the government accepted it in mid-April.

The development project Brijuni Rivijera at the locations Hidrobaza (Pula) and Pineta (Fazana) is based on concessions to build tourist facilities and operate them for a period of 66 years.

The projects for the two locations, which are situated opposite the northern Adriatic Brijuni islands, envisage the construction of four and five-star hotels with a capacity of up to 1,000 and 650 beds, as well as sport and recreation facilities.
