The police in the coastal city of Split have taken in for questioning yet another 13 persons over rioting at the Gay Pride parade this past weekend, which brings the number of arrested rioters to 16, local police officials said on Wednesday.
The police have grounds to believe that on June 11, during the Gay Pride parade in Split, nine persons committed the criminal acts of rioting, violation of the right to assembly, and hate crime.
Three persons were taken to an investigating judge of the Split County Court today, and two more were expected to be taken there by the end of the day.
The police will press charges against four rioters for particularly rude and inappropriate behaviour and for acts that put participants in the Gay Pride parade in a humiliating position.
One person will be charged with preventing police from performing their duties, and three will be charged with disturbing the peace.
The investigation into the Saturday riots will continue, the police said.
