Spanish Ambassador to Croatia Manuel Salazar and the head of the EU Delegation in Croatia, Paul Vandoren, on Tuesday delivered to Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Gordan Jandrokovic a verbal note notifying Croatia about the enhanced role of the Delegation under the Lisbon Treaty.

Spain currently holds the six-month rotating presidency of the EU.

According to the note, as of today, June 8, the local representation of the European Union at delegation level is unified under the authority of the EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.

The Delegation of the EU will represent the EU in Croatia and will thus perform, along with its current tasks, the role and functions currently exercised by Spain, according to the note.
