Culture Minister Andrea Zlatar Violic on Saturday evening refuted media speculations that First Deputy Prime Minister and Croatian People's Party chief Radimir Cacic requested her resignation because she supported the appointment of Domagoj Novokmet as acting director of Croatian Radio Television, which Cacic was against.
Zlatar Violic told the press those statements were "media fabrications".
"In every profession there are discussions about certain topics, candidates, arguments. However, formally there was no mention of my replacement," the minister told reporters in the southern Croatian city of Split on Saturday evening.
The minister added she did not expect criticism from Brussels concerning the appointment of acting director of Croatian Radio Television.
"I expect regular consultations which are held every month," the minister said.
