The Zagreb County Court on Thursday dismissed an indictment against former Hrvatske Autoceste (HAC) motorway operator executives Mario Crnjak, Jurica Prskalo and Josip Sapunar and former Rijeka-Zagreb Motorway CEO Zlatko Korpar, finding that it was filed too late.

The four men are indicted of financial wrongdoing which defrauded the state of about HRK 9 million in a case linked with the Fimi Media corruption case.

Defence counsel Veljko Miljevic told the media that a panel chaired by Judge Marijan Garac found that the Zagreb County Prosecutor's Office did not file the indictment within the deadlines envisaged by the Criminal Procedure Act.

The indictment was filed in early April and the defence claimed in court that it should not have been filed after mid-February.

Today's decision may be appealed at the Supreme Court. If upheld, Crnjak, Prskalo, Sapunar and Korpar will not be held to account for alleged abuse of office.
