Environmental impact studies have shown that the Plomin C thermal power plant project is sustainable, so it would not be good to call a referendum on the project in Istria County and Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, the head of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, Zlatko Komadina, told a press conference in Rijeka on Monday.

Responding to questions from the press about the government's refusal of a referendum on the Plomin C project, Komadina also said that the matter should not be decided at a nationwide referendum.

He announced that the County Assembly would discuss the county urban development plan at its session next month and that it expected approval from the competent ministry later this week.
