Although initial reports said that the injury Tottenham Hotspur and Croatia national fullback Vedran Corluka suffered was not serious, Wednesday’s diagnostics showed that there may be reason for concern, after all

These new reports come from the head of the Croatian national team’s medical staff, dr. Jurica Rakic, who is in constant contact with Tottenham’s medical staff.

Dr. Rakic reports that it is still too early to confirm the state of the Croatian fullback, but that medical exams should be finished by Friday morning when more details will be known.

‘Based on diagnosis so far, which I must add are not final, it appears that Vedran Corluka injured the soft tissue of his right ankle, and fortunately there is no bone damage. We are still waiting on the reports of another diagnostic procedure which should confirm this,’ dr. Rakic briefly stated.

Corluka was injured after a two-footed tackle by AC Milan’s Mathieu Flamini in the Champions League match at the San Siro on Tuesday evening. Tottenham won the first leg, 1-0.
