Constitutional Court President Jsna Omejec told the Croatian national television (HTV) on Tuesday evening that the court had decided earlier in the day to suspend the implementation of the legislation regulating the Value Added Tax on daily newspapers for the time being, the HTV reported in the late evening news programme.
The suspended law envisages that daily newspapers with over 25,000 words pay a lower VAT rate of 5%, while those containing fewer words than the said criterion pay a 10-% VAT.
The Constitutional Court is expected to make a final ruling in the early autumn, HTV said.
