The candidacy of Health Minister Rajko Ostojic, who was proposed earlier this month by the Social Democratic Party (SDP) presidency as the SDP candidate for the Zagreb mayor at the forthcoming local elections, was confirmed by the SDP branch in the City of Zagreb on Friday evening.
The SDP city branch today held a two-hour-long session to accept the party leadership's proposal, thus revoking its previous unanimous decision of October 15 to nominate the leader of the party's Zagreb branch, Davor Bernadic, as the SDP mayoral candidate. Bernardic is currently the chairman of the Zagreb City Council.
