Jakusevac suburb residents who have been blocking since Wednesday access to the capital's dump unblocked the roads on Friday after talks with Zagreb Mayor Milan Bandic who said that their requests would be discussed at an urgent City Assembly session, scheduled for 31 August.
The Jakusevac landfill was unblocked shortly before 1400 hours today. Bandic expressed hope the City Assembly would adopt the proposal by the City Administration and Jakusevac residents' requests.
Local residents announced they will again block the entry to the dump site should their requests be rejected.
