Croatian Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic on Sunday evening visited the State Protection and Rescue Service (DUZS) and the State Emergency Centre 112.
The PM told reporters that local self-government units in coordination with the state authorities should prepare for possible new snow storms.
Milanovic said he came to talk to representatives of the DUZS and the emergency centre given that the weather forecast said that severe wintry conditions were expected to last.
Milanovic said the situation in Dalmatia was now stabilised, adding however that given the possibilities of new snowdrifts local government must be prepared.
Bitterly cold weather sweeping across the country brought widespread disruption to transport services, and left thousands without power with warnings that low temperatures would continue into next week.
