PM Kosor announces gov't reshuffle

Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor on Monday proposed to Parliament to appoint Martina Dalic Finance Minister, Davor Bozinovic Defence Minister, Branko Bacic Minister of Environmental Protection, Physical Planning and Construction, and Jasen Mesic Culture Minister.

Kosor announced the government reshuffle, which she described as a government refreshment, at a news conference at government headquarters.

Apart from the new appointments, Kosor also announced a new government institution, that of Deputy Prime Minister in charge of investment, a post to be taken by Domagoj Milosevic.

Kosor also proposed that Agriculture Minister Petar Cobankovic be appointed Deputy Prime Minister in charge of the economy, and that Foreign Minister Gordan Jandrokovic be appointed Deputy PM.

Kosor thanked the outgoing ministers - Finance Minister Ivan Suker, Defence Minister Branko Vukelic, the Minister of Environmental Protection, Physical Planning and Construction, Marina Matulovic Dropulic, and Culture Minister Bozo Biskupic, for what she described as dedicated work of many years.

They will all return to Parliament, and Parliament will convene for an extraordinary session on Wednesday at which it is expected to confirm the new appointments.
