Former Prime Minister Ivo Sanader had his ailing leg examined at Zagreb's prison hospital on Friday but no diagnosis was made.

"He underwent an examination at the prison hospital but there is no diagnosis yet," one of his attorneys, Goran Suic, told press after talking with his client at Remetinec prison after the examination.

Sanader was told in the hospital that he must undergo another specialist examination but he was not told where and when, Suic said, adding that he assumed doctors would make a scan of the leg Sanader injured while in extradition custody in Austria.

Suic and Sanader's other attorney, Cedo Prodanovic, were preparing their client's defence with him at Remetinec today. Sanader was extradited from Austria on Monday on suspicion of abuse of office in many corruption cases.

Yesterday, his defence appealed a decision ordering one month of investigative detention for Sanader. Next week, the lawyers will request to see the Fimi Media case file. Suic thinks the Office for the Suppression of Corruption and Organised Crime (USKOK) will grant the request, as all conditions have been met.

On Wednesday, Sanader will be deposed about allegations that he took a HRK 3.5 million commission from the Hypo bank.
