Commenting on the announcements by Social Democratic Party (SDP) president Zoran Milanovic that he would propose the forming of a parliamentary commission of inquiry to establish the truth following claims by former PM Damir Polancec, Croatian Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor said on Monday there was no need for such a commission because Croatia had institutions which were working.

Asked if she would demand the suspension of the police chief police Oliver Grbic, Kosor said that as long as Grbic enjoyed the trust of Interior Minister Tomislav Karamarko he enjoyed her trust as well.

Kosor said she continued to insist that a session of the National Security Council be held as soon as possible so as to set rules of conduct.

I Insist that the Council session be held as soon as possible so that we can establish the fact and see who can be prosecuted and ensure that institutions, the judiciary and notably courts, police and the Prosecutor's office are free of political pressure, Kosor told a news conference after the signing of an agreement with the Croatian Bishops' conference on Catholic elementary and high schools.
