Croatian tennis player Ivo Karlovic secured a spot in the quarterfinals of the ATP Houston after defeating Russian player Igor Kunitsyn 6-4, 6-1
It took Karlovic little over an hour to beat the 89th ranking ATP player. This was Karlovic’s tenth straight win in the Houston tournament, which he won in 2007 for his first of four career ATP titles.
Karlovic had not taken part in the US Men’s Clay Court Championships since then and had to qualify for a spot in this year’s tournament.
Karlovic will meet American John Isner in the quarterfinals. This will be the third meeting between the ATP’s two tallest players (Karlovic 208cm, 6’8’’; Isner 206cm, 6’7’’). Each player has a win from their past two meetings.
