President Ivo Josipovic on Sunday attended in Barban, Istria County, the 35th edition of a tournament held for the first time in 1696.

Josipovic said this event was part of the Croatian cultural identity, voicing hope the lancers would hit the target.

"There is an economic crisis and all those responsible for Croatia today must hit the target. I expect them to," he underlined.

"We must all be ambassadors of friendship, good will and cooperation. Unfortunately, there are those in Croatia who robbed this Croatia. That's why I want the State Prosecutor's Office, the police and the finance police to hit the target with those people," the president said.

He added, "We changed the Constitution and said there is no statute of limitations on those crime and now we are waiting, although we mustn't wait too long."
