The presidents of the Zagreb branches of the Croatian Social Liberal Party (HSLS) and of the Croatian Peasant Party (HSS), Alen Ostojic and Nenad Matic respectively, on Sunday signed a coalition agreement regulating the two parties' joint participation in the local elections in the City of Zagreb in 2013.

At the document-signing ceremony in the Croatian capital's main square, the HSLS leader Darinko Kosor said that the alliance forged by these two parties today was the only real Opposition in Zagreb.

We expect that a new government in the City of Zagreb after the next local elections would not be founded without this coalition, Kosor said.

The HSS leader Branko Hrg said that the two parties started on time the preparations for the next local elections in order to become recognisable.

Hrg said the two parties found the common ground in their wish to try make the lives of Zagreb residents better.
