The first regional chocolate festival "Zagreb Chocofest", which is taking place in the Croatian capital's central square on February 10-14, has brought together some 20 exhibitors, including for the first time the Russian chocolate producer Korkunov.

The event was opened by Mayor Milan Bandic, under whose auspices the festival is being held.

Admission is free, and already on the first day there were hundreds of visitors.

Most of the exhibitors are small chocolate and praline makers from Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Serbia, as well as the well-known Turkish producer Eti. Zvecevo, one of Croatia's leading confection producers, is also attending the festival, as is the Croatian coffee producer Franck.

The Russian chocolate maker Korkunov has the biggest stand at the festival. Its export manager Viacheslav Voropaev, who described Korkunov as No. 1 chocolate maker in Russia, said the company was interested in doing business in Croatia and in other countries in the region.
