Representatives of the Croatian Farmers Union are expected to meet with Agriculture Minister Petar Cobankovic on Monday after all, but the place of the meeting has not been agreed yet, Union leader Tomislav Pokrovac told reporters at a protest point on a local road near Vinkovci on Sunday.

"We would like the meeting with Minister Cobankovic to be held in the area of Vukovar-Srijem or Virovitica-Podravina County, but we would also accept a meeting in Zagreb," said Pokrovac, adding that the association wanted the meeting, if it was to result in the signing of an agreement, to be attended also by President Ivo Josipovic.

Pokrovac said that representatives of the union were told at a meeting with Vukovar County officials on Saturday that Cobankovic wanted to meet with them on Monday.

As a sign of good will, the protesting farmers have removed road blocks in Vukovar-Srijem, Virovitica-Podravina and Brod-Posavina counties or will do so during the day, said Pokrovac.

"I am not saying that we will again block roads if we don't reach agreement with Minister Cobankovic. We want to arrive at a solution and sign an agreement," he said.

The farmers ask that all incentives in farming, stock breeding and fisheries be paid in full, that the price of blue-dyed diesel fuel be the same for both farmers and fishermen - HRK 4 per litre, that the accounts in which they receive incentives be unfrozen, and that a national farming strategy be made for the next ten years.
