Croatia's best discus thrower and Olympic champion Sandra Perkovic opened the new IAAF Diamond League with a victory on Friday in Doha where her best throw was 68.23 metres.
She was followed by Lithuanian Zinaida Sendriute (63.92), and German Anna Rueh (63.01).
The next meet is scheduled for 25 May in New York at which Croatia's best high jumper Blanka Vlasic announced her comeback after she was absent from track and field events due to health problems.
