Croatian Justice Minister Orsat Miljenic and the US Embassy's charge d'affaires, Hoyt B. Yee, on Wednesday signed a letter of approval between the governments of the two countries, paving the way for a project of regional initiative in the field of judiciary, the Croatian Justice Ministry stated in a press release on its web site.
The document, signed by Miljenic and Yee, is an international contract regulating legal prerequisites for implementing the Regional Initiative in the judiciary aimed at improving the judicial systems in Croatia and other countries in the region with an emphasis on prevention of organised and cross-border crime and corruption.
According to the letter, the financial means to be made available for this purpose by the USA are USD 960,000.
