Voter turnout in Croatia at 61.94 pct

The turnout in ten constituencies in Croatia in Sunday's parliamentary election was 61.94 per cent, the State Election Commission said on Monday, citing figures after counting 99.95 per cent of ballots.

The turnout in Constituency No. 11, designed for Croatian citizens living outside Croatia, was 5.13 per cent. Ballots from Constituency No. 12, which is designed for ethnic minorities and covers the entire territory of Croatia, were still being counted.

First complete official results are expected to be released on Tuesday.

A total of 4,504,081 people were entitled to vote, of whom 3,717,523 in Croatia, 411,758 in Constituency No. 11, and 374,800 in Constituency No. 12. Voters in Constituency No. 11 voted for three representatives in the Croatian Parliament and those in Constituency No. 12 for eight, with three of them reserved for the Serb minority.
