Representatives of trade unions and employees expressed their dissatisfaction at the Social and Economic Council (GSV) meeting on Thursday with the state of the social dialogue in the country, particularly complaining about the fact that Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic did not attend today's session.

Milanovic did not come to today's Social and Economic Council session although we invited him but received no answer, GSV president Kresimir Sever told the press after the session, adding that the prime minister was not responding to any of their memos and proposals.

Labour Minister Mirando Mrsic said Milanovic was not scheduled to attend today's session, adding however that the PM had met union leaders and employees in the past and that he would continue to do that in the future as well.

In his opinion the government had fully included social partners in the process of drawing up laws.

At its session today, the GSV also focused on the problems of the Dioki petrochemical factory whose workers are asking for that their late salaries amounting to HRK5.5 million be paid out, while the government was unsuccessfully trying to find a strategic partner. It was agreed that the Economy Ministry would once again try to reach a solution with representatives of trade unions and the Dioki crisis centre.
