The State Election Commission had received by midnight 3,100 slates of candidates for local councils and 2,180 nominations for mayors, heads of municipalities and counties and their deputies, ahead of local elections scheduled for May 19, the commission said on Friday morning.
The figures are not definitive because it could not be immediately confirmed whether all local commissions entered all the data into the computer system, Vlado Mikulec of the Apis IT support agency told Hina by telephone.
The commissions have 48 hours, that is until midnight on May 4, to verify the slates and nominations. Campaigning for local elections will officially last from May 5 to 17.
