Slovenia's Prime Minister Janez Jansa on Thursday said in Brussels that the agreement reached on Wednesday evening in Otocec ob Krki represented a "promising framework" but that it still needed to be studied thoroughly and that it was too early to give a final judgement.
"It is still to early to make a final judgement, we are perusing the proposal. This is a framework that could prove to be promising. I expect to unveil some of its content with Croatia's Premier Zoran Milanovic either today or tomorrow and then it is up to procedures in both countries", Jansa said when he arrived in Brussels for an EU summit.
Asked whether Croatia was a little closer to the EU now, Jansa said that "it is in Slovenia's interest that Croatia joins the EU this year". There are still some obstacles before that step but I think that in the next few weeks or months we will successfully overcome them, said Jansa.
