The Alliance of Serbs in Austria, the umbrella organisation of over 40 Serb associations in Austria, has forwarded to the Austrian authorities a request that Serbs be granted the national minority status in Austria, the Serbian ministry for the diaspora reported on Saturday.
The statement, carried by the media in Belgrade, said that some 300,000 Serbs live in Austria and that they are the second most numerous people after Austrians in that country.
